# How do I become an author?

We recommend using a [mobile ](/help/en/faq/app.md)device or a device with a camera to go through the verification procedure. Also, for verification, you will need a passport and a piece of paper where you can write your verification number by hand and take photos and videos of yourself.

**But remember:** [multiaccounting ](/help/en/faq/general/multiaccounting.md)is prohibited for authors!

In order to become an author:

* Complete [registration and authorization](/help/en/faq/registration-and-authorization.md) on Polee.me. \
  After that, find the [menu ](/help/en/faq/general/menu.md)where go to the section "Become ..." ⇒ "Author".

Reasons for requesting passport information during verification:

* [x] **Legal requirements:** Since our site makes payments to the authors of the content, we need to have proof of the identity of the author. Payments to an unidentified person are illegal because it can lead to the laundering of criminally obtained funds. The legality of payments should be transparent in case of any kind of claims from the states in which our service operates.
* [x] **Age verification:** Complete passport data, including the number, allows you not only to verify the age, but also to protect yourself from image forgery.
* [x] **Protection of the author's content:** If third parties start distributing your content, we will have enough data to file a claim and provide the necessary legal protection.
* [x] **Protecting the company from abuse:** There may be cases when your content may seem to someone to violate the laws of one of the countries in which it will be available. In case of such claims, we will be able to quickly verify within the company that the author's document corresponds to the person depicted in the photo/video and that there are no violations (age, etc.). Then challenge the claims to the content or promptly warn you about non-compliance with the laws of a particular country. We can also help to remove such content from access in a particular country or provide recommendations on how to eliminate violations. At the same time, keeping your authorship of the content and not deleting it from the service.
